New Welder Produces Superior Airforms
by Kris Garrison

In August 2001, Monolithic installed a 200-foot "RF"(Radio Frequency) welder inside Bruco, Monolithic's Airform Manufacturing Division. Our new RF welder is one of the largest in the world.

Don Garrison, Airform Division Manager said, "The overall quality of Monolithic Airforms including the appearance and strength of the seams has improved dramatically with the use of the RF welder." The first Airforms created by the new welder were ordered by Dome Technology of Idaho Falls, Idaho. They are currently constructing two large Fly Ash storage facilities:

  • ESI in Georgetown, South Carolina measures 125' x 94.5'.
  • Great River Energy in Washburn, North Dakota measures 220' x 80'.

Estimated completion is February 2002.
